General FAQ

  1. Propellerhead is adding VST plug-in support to Reason. Yep, that’s Propellerhead who for years had sworn they’d never add plug-ins because of concerns about stability, compatibility, and even simple features like undo implementation – and because conventional plug-ins don’t integrate the way that native devices in Reason’s trademark.
  2. Reason 9.5 introduces VST support, and is a free update for Reason 9 owners. Explore new and creative ways to use VST plugins with Reason 9.5. Drag and drop from the browser, use CV and audio connections with your plugins, play in new ways with Players, put VSTs in Combinators with Reason’s own devices or Rack Extensions.
  3. VST plug-ins in Reason have the same priviliges as any other rack module or Rack Extension, so they can be used in exactly the same way. However there are a few extra things to know about. When you first launch Reason 9.5 it will scan your VST folders.

So what we have in this quick video is my Sub 37, being controlled- with it's excellent VST editor. And then that VST is accepting CV from rack modules in Reason via a tiny bit of routing in the back, and the CV editor in the VST plugin rack. Finally I'm pushing it with the matrix pattern sequencer.

How can I use Manipulator in live performance (zero latency)?

Osx vst plugins folder. To use Manipulator in a live setting, set your sound card’s ASIO or Core Audio latency to low. Some audio cards do not have low latency settings. In this case, ASIO4ALL may help.

I’m experiencing issues with I Wish on PT 12.6 running MacOS Sierra.

We are aware of an issue preventing I Wish from working properly on MacOS Sierra and Pro Tools 12.6. We have a fix in beta form. Contact us to download it now, or you can wait for the next update that will be rolled out shortly.

I’m experiencing issues with Polyverse plugins and Logic Pro X 10.5.

On May 12th, 2020, Apple released Logic Pro X 10.5. for macOS. Unfortunately, this new version currently conflicts with many 3rd-party plugins including Polyverse plugins.

To avoid stability and performance issues affecting 3rd-party plugins, we highly recommend that you do not yet update to Logic Pro X 10.5 at this time.

The following Polyverse plugins are affected by this issue:

• Gatekeeper

Many of Gatekeeper’s features will work as an insert effect on GarageBand. However, due to the lack of side chain and MIDI routing in GarageBand, Gatekeeper’s MIDI features will not be accessible.

Many of Manipulator’s features will work as an insert effect on GarageBand. However, due to the lack of side chain and MIDI routing in GarageBand, Manipulator’s MIDI features will not be accessible.

On up to how many machines can I install my plug-in?

Each purchase of a Polyverse plug-in includes a personal license that allows you to install the plugin on up to four computers that you own. For more information, please read our full license agreement which is presented to you upon checkout.

I Wish needs both audio and MIDI to work. Make sure your midi is connected to the plug-in and that you are playing notes at the same time the audio is flowing through the plug-in.
Please read the manual on how to connect the plug-in inside your DAW. Our video tutorial may be helpful to you, as well.
